Khan-Atlas flash mob was supported with a fashion show at Tashkent airport

11 January 2024

A fashion show was held for the first time at Tashkent airport. The purpose of the event, unconventional for an air harbor, where the podium was the apron and the Silk Avia aircraft in the background, was to popularize the Uzbek national fabric - khan-atlas.

“Last year, these days, a vibrant Khan-Atlas festival took place in Tashkent. Models in national dresses paraded around the city center, and many girls and women happily supported the flash mob, using elements of national clothing and accessories in their images. This year, Uzbekistan Airports together with the famous Uzbek designer Kamola Rustamova - the Azukar Moreno brand - decided to “support” Khan-Atlas and held a show right on the platform,” the company’s press service noted.

Models in designer clothes made from national fabrics leave the plane, the fuselage of which is decorated with livery in the form of an evolving Khan-Atlas, and walk along the red carpet right on the platform.

“Khan-atlas is our heritage, our pride, like pilaf, Registan and poppy seeds. This is a unique, inimitable fabric, shrouded in dozens of legends and appreciated on the world's catwalks. It is important that we have carried it through hundreds of years and continue to keep it at the peak of popularity both in Uzbekistan and abroad. I am very pleased that our airports have become so open and friendly. Previously, I would not have thought that I could hold a show against the backdrop of airplanes,” noted Kamola Rustamova.
